Rooms full of secrets. Inspirations from the princely Residence Amorbach. About 100 meters away from EMICH´S convention hotel is the ducal Abbey, a former Benedictine Monastery. As well as the famous Abbey Church there is also a romantic monastery garden and inner courtyard, together with the living quarters and representation rooms of the last Abbot Benedict Külsheimer, who resided there from 1778-1803 and Prince Carl Friedrich Wilhelm zu Leiningen, resident here from 1803-1807. The hall has been carefully renovated; elegant stucco, double doors and library have survived the centuries in good condition and give us a perfect example of the living and representative culture of Classicism. These rooms are available for your seminar and equipped with the latest technical systems and attractive design features.

A short history

The duchy rooms represent a unique ensemble of Early Classicism. They were erected for the purposes of living and of representation. The splendor of the rooms served to impress guests and demonstrate power. The richly furbished Princely Rooms were created in the years 1782-1800 by order of the Abbot Benedict Külsheimer.

This abbot was especially concerned with presenting himself and demonstrating his wealth and power to subjects and visitors. The whole extension works to the Abbey together with the extraordinary rooms can be seen as an expression of the feeling of monastic power.

THE ROYAL STABLES

Only a few steps away from EMICH´S Hotel are the Royal Stables. Today at the center is a beautiful inner courtyard with fantastic views of the 2 church towers of the Abbey. And on the other side the views over the forests of the Wolkmannberg. Two rooms formerly served as stables for horses but have been extensively renovated to now offer 120 m² space in each case, for conventions, presentations, open-air concerts or company celebrations. With the ancillary sheds and courtyard facilities the stables now offer an ideal location for exclusive events, e.g. for vintage car enthusiast or for top-class exhibitions or markets etc.

REFECTORY

The refectory, the former dining hall of the Benedictine monks was restored at great detail according to authentic plans and since 1982 is resplendent in original form. The room is in Prussian blue, old rose and white lead and is characterized by an historic cycle of paintings by Konrad Huber, showing the history of the Abbey from its foundation. A place in history which can be rented privately for lectures and readings, receptions or concerts.

GREEN HALL

The Festival Hall from the year 1792 in the Benedictine Abbey takes its name from the colors in which it is painted namely, mountain green and white lead. In former times it served as a reception hall for high-ranking members of the church and others for dinners and concerts in the tradition of the imperial halls of the 17th and 18th century. With its unique imposing stucco works, the raised musicians’ gallery, the crystal chandeliers and cast iron stoves, the hall is still today a place with a very special atmosphere for your event, lectures or get- togethers.
